In The Republic, Plato wrote that necessity is the mother of invention. I think Plato got it wrong.
It isn’t necessity that fuels the creative drive behind invention. It’s desire.
It was desire which fueled the “invention” of this blog: My desire to live in a beautifully decorated home that reflects warmth and personality, and my husband’s desire that I find ways to do so without spending a lot of money. (Okay – technically, he said “any money”…but I don’t think he really meant it.) So, over the years, those desires have led me to be creative (and frugal) in our home design projects.
Is our house perfect? The answer is “No” - but, at FrugalDesignGirl.com, I can chat with you and ramble on about what I’ve done, what I would like to do, and stuff I think is just too cool not to share!
What are my credentials? None that would lead you to believe I would start a design blog, but let’s face it – you can’t teach good taste. The comments and articles you will find are simply musings of a girl who appreciates color, design and creativity as much as she appreciates a good bargain!
Mix all of that in with inventive, DIY projects and together, we can have the magazine-worthy homes we desire…without spending a fortune.
