When I moved into a short-term apartment before my belongings were being shipped I wasn't allowed to paint or anything to make it more homey. I covered my switchplated with the great wallpaper and fabric samples I got online for free. The best part it was super high end product I could never afford!

I have been taking advantage of the JC Penney outlets since I had my first apartment in Michigan some, hmmmm, let's say over 20 years ago. They were a great source then and now. I still have the parsons table that I bought way back then. Those of you looking to save money, this is the place. Enjoy.

I miss Trading Spaces. I think success went to their head and they changed the show so much that it wasn't popular with viewers any more.

For example the show where they gave $50,000 to Laurie Smith and Doug Wilson. The room Doug got had just been recently done by the homewoners and it already looked nice. To think of the people who could have really used a makeover. What a waste.

Another example is when they had two neighbors who had million dollar houses. Imagine decorating a room for $1000 in a million dollar house. One lady wanted her dining room done and she already had a 24,000 dining room set. I think they just wanted to be on TV. I guess the producers were too lazy to find people who really needed a room redone.

I want Laurie Smith to have her own show!!

I'm tired of seeing cheap designs, using bad color choices and yucky "repurposed" furniture from all these hgtv shows.

I want what Laurie provided on Trading Spaces, a high class look and still staying under budget. She really knows elegant modern.

Mrs. Smith, please come to Beverly Hills, decorate and have a camera crew follow you around!

Hi Carissa -
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Making stencils is not a service I provide - but I can tell you how to create your own! After all...inexpensive home decor projects is what Frugal Design Girl is all about. You can create your own stencils using clear sheets of overhead plastic (found at office supply stores), or even using stencil plastic (found at your local craft store.) Simply place the clear plastic sheet over the design you wish to replicate. Using a permanent maker, trace the design. Next, cut the design out using an Exacto knife or stencil cutter. Ta-da! You know have a custom stencil of your very own. You can use the money you saved for some kind of frou-frou drink on your honeymoon.
Cheers!

Hello,
I am getting married and would like to make flat felt center linens for under the flowers, that have a cutout pattern and am in need of a stencil. I have a pattern idea that i have a picture of but would need it to be tweaked a bit. Is this something you could make for me?
Thanks
